How To Select A High Quality Magnetic Mattress Pad
The magnetic components.
Three factors determine the strength and effectiveness of a magnetic mattress pad.
- Manufacturer's gauss rating of the magnets
- Size (mass) of each magnet
- Number of magnets contained in the pad
The biomagnets used in Therion System 750 and 2000 mattress pads are 7 times the size (mass) of the magnets used in other pads. Our System 3000R pads use mini-block magnets that are 52 times the mass of those used in other pads.
Each Therion biomagnet is made with high-energy magnetic material (4,200 gauss). There are more of them placed in each pad compared to other brands too. The greater size, strength and number of magnets produces an even, deeply penetrating therapeutic magnetic field. It also ensures that no energy gaps exist between magnets that would otherwise be spaced too far apart.

The cushioning.
A quality magnetic mattress pad should also be made with high-quality therapeutic cushioning. There are two reasons for this. First, top quality cushioning is far more comfortable to sleep on and will enhance the therapeutic benefits of the pad.
The second reason has to do with how long the pad will last before the cushioning breaks down and becomes uncomfortable to sleep on. A mattress pad should not have to be replaced within a year or two because of the cushioning.
Therion System 2000 and 3000 mattress pads are made with 4lb. density Viscoelastic (memory) foam. Other brands of memory foam mattress pads only use 2.5lb. foam, causing them to breakdown faster. Also, the entire thickness (core) of our pads is made of Viscoelastic foam, not just a thin layer as with other brands. This allows for more adjustment and support, for proper spinal alignment.
Therion System 750 pads are made with a material called High Resiliency (HR) foam. HR foam is made by a different process than other foams. The structure of the foam is substantially improved, so it will last 5 times longer than any conventional foam, including high-density foams.
While all cushioning foam will eventually break down, the better the quality of the foam, the more comfortable it is to sleep on, and the longer it will last.
